What to look for in a Juniors Soccer Program

When searching for a developmental program for your player, one of the most critical components is finding an organization with a sound philosophy for developing technical and tactical skills that are age appropriate. It is also important to find a coaching staff that has the knowledge and expertise to work with the younger player. An appropriate training program that places your player in a training environment that ensures fun and proper fundamental development is also very important.

Our Youth Program

The ALBION JUNIORS Development Program for the Junior Player is designed to give your child the opportunity to build a solid foundation in technical development in the very early years of playing and enjoying the game of soccer. ALBION JUNIORS program serves as an introductory and advanced path for 3 to 6 aged soccer players. The uniqueness of our program is that we have devised an In-House, non-travel program professionally coached and organized for ages 3 to 6 year olds. We are committed to providing a fun, educational, and progressive experience for your youth soccer players. Not only are we committed to our youth players, but we also have a wonderful comprehensive coaching education curriculum and mentorship program specifically for ALBION Juniors.

Come out and experience what no other club offers! ALBION JUNIORS, the official recreational program of ALBION SC, is recommended for all girls and boys, ages 3 to 6, who have the desire to play soccer in a structured, professional environment with experienced and licensed coaches. There are no tryouts for our ALBION JUNIORS program. Registration and the desire is all that is required.

ALBION JUNIORS U4 to U7

The vision for the ALBION Juniors program will be to have the following age groups where they would be gender specific (except in the U4+U5 age group), have separate training sessions and matches alike:

· U4
· U5
· U6
· U7

Overall, all players will be under the guidance and development of the ALBION Juniors’ Director. They will educate, mentor, and guide the volunteer Juniors coaches who take on an ALBION Juniors development group for the season. During the season, respective Juniors’ Team coaches will have one training sessions per week. This is our way of creating "First Kicks" or "Discovery" for players to experience the sport of football (soccer).

Fall & Spring Discovery Phase (U4 & U5)

The Albion SC Junior Program caters to U4-U5 boys and girls and operates as a once-a-week session, taking place on Sundays at Samuel Robertson Technical Secondary in Maple Ridge (Address: 10445 245 Street, Maple Ridge) Our primary focus in this program is introducing and exploring the game, development of movement literacy + coordination, development of ball familiarity and development while encouraging imagination and play.

By default, players will be placed on teams with the same gender. However, we are happy to accommodate co-ed requests, including those from families and friends, ensuring a positive and inclusive experience for all participants.

Fall & Spring Foundation Phase (U6 & U7)

The Albion SC Junior Program caters to U6 -U7 boys and girls and operates as a once-a-week session, taking place on Sundays at Samuel Robertson Technical Secondary in Maple Ridge (Address: 10445 245 Street, Maple Ridge) Our primary focus in this program is introducing and exploring the game, development of movement literacy + coordination, development of ball familiarity and development while encouraging imagination and play.

One weekly practice session, skillfully led one Program Director and multiple trained coaches
One weekly game in our "in-house" league that is organized and led by one Program Director and multiple trained coaches

The foundation phase focuses on the developing ball mastery, 1v1 skills, introducing passing and receiving skills, introducing the decision-making process through game-based learning and developing creativity through match play.
